Parent Company and not-for-profiit organization, Methodist ElderCare Services, has operated Wesley Glen since 1969. The Virginia Gay Home was built in the 1930's and was a retirement home for school teachers (open file attachment at right to view Virginia Gay building in 1948).

What are the benefits of living in an accredited community?
Residents and their families can feel even more confident in Wesley Glen’s quality because it has earned accreditation by a recognized authority on retirement housing quality.

EAGLE accreditation comes from the United Methodist Association of Health and Welfare Ministries.

This accreditation indicates Wesley Glen has volunteered to undergo a rigorous process to measure its quality and integrity. The resulting accreditation is widely regarded as “a seal of approval.”

Do I have to pay an Entrance Fee when moving into Wesley Glen?
Wesley Glen has both an Entrance Fee with a Monthly Fee or a Monthly Fee Only payment plan. Both plans provide life care with the Entrance Fee providing discounted health care rates once the resident needs additional care.

Do you have to be Methodist to live at Wesley Glen?
No! Wesley Glen is affiliated with Methodist ElderCare Services, but that does not restrict our community to only Methodist residents. A variety of denominations are represented among the residents. Typically, only 42 - 48% of residents are Methodist.

How long is the Wesley Glen waiting list?
Currently, apartments are available in all areas. If someone is interested in an apartment because of size or location they may need to go on a waiting list for that specific apartment.
